Amazing Dance Teaching Team!

Since 1980, The Cassettes has prided itself on combining high-quality dance teaching, with novelty floatation devices. Wait, I mean with a sense of the ridiculous. Our new Flashmob Troupe Leader, fresh from professional dance training in Melbourne, New York and Indonesia, promises to continue the tradition.

Please welcome Katy Woods to The Cassettes’ incredible teaching team!

As a recent graduate of Melbourne’s Deakin University with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Contemporary Dance), Katy also trained in dance at the Indonesian Institute of Art, and through the New York Movement Research Intensive. I am so excited to have Katy contribute her skills and enthusiasm to the Cassettes’ team, teaching the Flashmob Troupe. This will allow me more time to paint my nails, and to attend all of The Cassettes dance classes! Wee!

Katy is kicking off Term 1 2017 with with Pat Benatar’s, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”. We love lady rock.

Katy says hello:

I was thrilled to discover The Cassettes’ lycra bound bodies sought a new Troupe Leader to push lycra binding boundaries. I am at your service good people, and will do my very best for the mob!

Movement is the oldest and most expressive of languages. It is also super addictive.

Please prepare your limbs to flail in excitement. I aim to provide Flashmob Troupe classes that will elate your soul, tighten your buttocks, inspire frivolous creativity, focus on contemporary trainings and collaboration.

I will be a fresh face to your dance community, and hope to embody the Flashmob Troupe Leader role with grace, and a whole bunch of excitement!
